Team Thailand

Once upon a time, not so long ago, 12 of us joined a tip organised by Intrepid Travel (Intrepid code TSN050806) in Thailand. We met on 6th August 2005 in Bangkok. A couple of days later we left for Northern Thailand. We visited/ stayed at Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Sai, the Chao Phraya River, the Golden Triangle, the Mekong River, Hill Tribe villages, the Erawan National Park, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai.
Woodlands hills in Northern Thailand
We trekked in the hills, rode elephants, punted in bamboo rafts, visited numerous temples and museums, swam under waterfalls, pedalled on cycles throughout the countryside, lazed on a luxury rice barge, learned Thai cooking, enjoyed fastboat rides, canoed and experienced the delights of Thai loos. As a group we returned to Bangkok for 19th/ 20th August 2005. Some of our group also visited South Thailand either before or after the main trek.
  We were:
•
Colleen & Gener Threadkell and Sandra Russell from Calgary, Canada.
•
Jantina Prangor from Heerkenveen, The Netherlands.
•
Nicola Ingram from Croydon and Donna from Birmingham, England.
•
Samantha Moore and John Parker from London, England.
•
Emer Maclean, Ruth Casey, Aoibheann NiChonfhaola and Ailbhe McDermott
from County Galway, Ireland.
Our Intrepid tour guide was Chanokmas Thongniem ('Cat'). Her assistant was Ann. Our main local guide in the North Thailand Hill Tribe areas was Kaochiang.
